DC Defenders C Jon Toth Signed By Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns have added depth to their offensive line by signing former DC Defenders C Jon Toth. The Browns starter, JC Tretter, just had his knee scoped, and may not be ready for Week 1.

Toth was an outstanding center at the University of Kentucky, starting all 4 years. He had previously been with the Eagles and the Jets, but was waived both times.

His versatility is what makes him special. Some scouts said he would eventually play guard in the NFL, but so far, that’s not been the case. The Browns waived recently signed Curtis Weaver to make room for Toth on their roster.

Drafted by the Defenders in the 4th round, 25th overall in the Phase #2 portion of the 2020 XFL Draft. Toth was the anchor of the offensive line, and played in 4 games, but ended the season on IR.
