After being allotted to the Battlehawks via the Alumni Academy Brendon White is already on the move. The 24-Year-Old was placed on the St Louis Battlehawks reserve list January 20th, only to be released a day later. White wouldn’t be out of work for long as the Rutgers/Ohio State alum most recently signed with the Massachusetts Pirates of the IFL.
White, went to camp with the New York Jets in 2021 as an undrafted free agent. The Linebacker/Safety began his college career at Ohio State where he played for three seasons before spending his final season at Rutgers. White’s best season was his sophomore year when he started five games totaling 46 tackles along with four tackles for loss, an interception. He’d be named the 2019 Rose Bowl Defensive MVP in Ohio State’s win over Washington.
White would end his college career with an all-Big Ten honorable mention selection in 2020 at Rutgers. Over his college career he played in a total of 34 games while starting 11. White recorded 105 tackles, two interceptions and a sack.
A former Four-Star Recruit coming from a Power-Five school, White hasn’t really had an opportunity in pro-football. After being a late addition in the XFL, and merely a camp body in the NFL, White has an opportunity to solidify himself in the IFL. With the IFL and XFL partnership in full effect, White and former Ohio State alum Cardale Jones are in prime position to jump back to the XFL, if they can perform with the Pirates this season.
