NFL teams are always revamped and retooling their rosters in hope of winning a championship and for the Dolphins their quest might have gotten a bit easier. The Dolphins are bringing in Freedom Akinmoladun to join their Rookie Mini-Camp in hopes of finding a spark from the Missouri Native.
Akinmoladun was a UDFA out of Nebraska in 2019. After stints with the Giants, Bengals, Titans and Jets, Akinmoladun made his way to the USFL playing with the Stars in the 2022 season. In 2023, Akinmoladun would join the Battlehawks via the XFL’s January Supplemental Draft becoming a part of an experienced Defensive Line rotation, led by former NFL All-Pro La’Roi Glover. Akinmoladun totaled 14 tackles and one sack in 2023 for St. Louis.
As of right now Akinmoladun is the first Battlehawks player to garner NFL interest officially. With the NFL continuing to look through available roster spaces and free agents, it’s only inventible that multiple XFL players will receive NFL contracts. Since 2020, over 60 players were signed to NFL contracts after the 2nd iteration of the league folded. In 2023, only time will tell if the XFL 3.0 matches or surpasses that number.

Up to 3 Hawks now with Freedom, Mateo Durant and Eric Magwood. Look for Shep, Butler, AJ to get looks as well as Feeney and possibly Willie Harvey. Could see a big turnover in the STL roster in ’24.
