DC Defenders TE Khari Lee has signed with the Detroit Lions practice squad. He is the first XFL player to sign with the Lions. This will be his second time with Detroit.
Lee is the seventh DC Defender player to sign a pro deal. He joins Hunter Niswander and Elijah Campbell as the only three Defenders on an NFL roster. He was cut by the Atlanta Falcons back in September and received an injury settlement. It looks he is now healthy and ready to go.
Lee was taken in the 5th round Phase #1 of the 2020 XFL Draft by the DC Defenders. He finished the shortened XFL season with 8 receptions, 91 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
At 28 years old, he has had pro stops with the Texans, Bears, Lions, Falcons, and Bills. He played his college ball at Bowie State in Maryland.
