The San Antonio Brahmas have been active in recent days. After releasing two players, they brought back safety Sean Williams Jr. after receiving temporary approval from the Navy.
On Saturday, the Brahmas added more depth to their roster on both sides of the ball. San Antonio signed former Los Angeles Rams tight end Jamal Pettigrew and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Kobe Smith.
Pettigrew joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old Brahmas tight end began his collegiate career at LSU, winning a National Championship in 2019.
Pettigrew transferred to McNeese State University in 2020. He caught 18 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown in his one and only season with McNeese State.
Smith, also 24, played his college ball at South Carolina. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans in 2020. The Titans waived him during the season, and Smith signed to the Buccaneers practice squad.
Smith left Tampa Bay in 2022, signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. The 24-year-old Brahmas defensive lineman was waived by the Eagles in September before signing with the Falcons for the remainder of the 2022 season.
These two additions bring the Brahmas active roster to 72. With the active roster limit set to 70, the Brahmas look poised to be active again as they prepare for their February 19th season opener.
