A couple days after trading for USFL Alum Kai Absheer, the Battlehawks added two more additional players bringing the roster to 70. The Battlehawks added Offensive Lineman Eric Magwood and Defensive Back Tim Harris.
The signing of Magwood, signifies that the Battlehawks still continue to look to build their offensive line with less than three weeks left in training camp. With Spring football, oftentimes QB play and Offensive Line play is often most criticized, especially during the early weeks of the Alt-League season. In Magwood the Battlehawks sign a player whose spent time at guard and tackle, however, comes to pro football with only one full season of starting experience dating back to 2019 at Eastern Kentucky. Most recently Magwood spent 2022 with the Arizona Rattlers of the IFL.
The Battlehawks also picked up NFL vet, Defensive Back Tim Harris. Harris was drafted in the 6th round of the 2019 NFL Draft to the San Francisco 49ers, before spending parts of the last three seasons with the Bills and Browns. Harris has appeared in three NFL games recording two tackles during his time in the NFL. With the recent departure of Channing Stribling to the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars, Harris has the opportunity to fill in as the CB2, along with Allie Green, Elijah Hamilton, Bryce Watts, Brandon Sebastion, and Kishawn Walker.
With opening kickoff for 2023, less than three weeks away it appears that all XFL teams are busy combing through their rosters, and free agency for the final pieces of their prospective championship rosters. As we’ve seen time and time again it appears that even cemented “Stars”, aren’t safe and that each team will be extremely active until the eve of the 2023 season.
