Battlehawks Defensive Lineman Lacale London Makes 2023 NFL Debut with Atlanta Falcons

Despite merger talks and a lot of uncertainty in the XFL for 2024, some good news came out on Sunday for St. Louis Battlehawks fans. Fan Favorite Lacale London made his 2023 NFL Debut after being elevated along with 2020 Dallas Renegades Safety Micah Abernathy.

London appeared in 10 defensive snaps recording 1 tackle for the Falcons. Previously a UDFA with the Bears out of Western Illinois in 2020, London spent three seasons with Chicago before appearing in one game for the Bears in 2021. On August 23rd of 2022, London was waived by the Bears joining the Battlehawks in the 4th round of the XFL’s November 2022 Draft.

London became the 3rd 2023 XFL alum and 1st Battlehawk to appear in an NFL game this season joining punters Dan Whelan (Defenders), and Brad Wing (Brahmas). During the 2023 offseason the XFL saw over 60 players earn NFL contracts with over 200 earning NFL workouts. The Battlehawks alone saw 15 players earn NFL contracts upon the completion of the 2023 XFL season.
