St Louis BattleHawks DE Will Clarke who signed with the Detroit Lions then later was cut, has signed with the New Orleans Saints Practice Squad. He is the only XFL player on the Saints roster and the ninth BattleHawk player to sign with a pro team.
Clarke was one of two defensive ends to try out for the Saints during their bye week. Currently, Clarke and BattleHawks QB Jordan Ta’amu remain on NFL practice squads. S Kenny Robinson was recently called up to the Panthers active roster.
Clarke played in 3 of the XFL’s 5 games finishing with 8 tackles, 3 QB hits, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for a loss. He was taken by the BattleHawks in the November XFL Supplemental Draft.
He was a third-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2014 and played briefly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018. He played his college ball at West Virginia.
