The Battlehawks saw a key piece on their Offensive Line depart when Jaryd Jones Smith joined the Washington Commanders this past summer. On Tuesday morning Dave Boller and Anthony Becht got back to work bringing in Offensive Lineman Koda Martin to add some depth to the unit.
Martin is a well-traveled veteran spending 2019 to 2023 with several NFL teams. After attending Texas A&M as a “swing tackle” Martin would transfer to Syracuse for his senior season, earning All-ACC honors in 2018. Martin would spend time with the Chargers, Cardinals, and Saints before joining the XFL.
Currently the Battlehawks looked to have a stout Offensive Line group with Eric Magwood, and Juwann Bushell-Beatty penciled in at the Two tackle positions for 2024. Magwood started Two games for St. Louis this past season while Bushell Beatty has been an Alt-Football staple since his time with the Roughnecks in 2020.
While many thoughts about the upcoming XFL-USFL merger run rampant on social media both leagues continue to operate separately until more details follow. Last season St. Louis put together a 7-3 record in their return to the “dome” in 2023. For more insight on how Coach Becht looks to build his 2024 team check out this video below:
