Even with the Battlehawks jumping back and forth between the 70-man roster limit, Anthony Becht’s squad continues to refine and retool his roster with less than three weeks left in preseason. On Monday January 30th, the Battlehawks signed former Michigan Cornerback Lavert Hill to join the team during their final stretch of the preseason. Teams will be required to set the rosters down to 50 players in preparation for week 1.
The Michigan Man Lavert Hill joins the Battlehawks after stints with 5 teams since coming to the NFL in 2020. After a college career where he was selected to Three All-Big Ten teams, Hill has struggled to find his footing the NFL, going back and forth between the waiver wire and the practice squad for months at a time. In his college career Hill has totaled 56 tackles, 6 INTs and 1 Defensive Touchdown.
The Battlehawks have heavily attacked the Defensive Backfield and Offensive Line since the XFL Draft, focusing the majority of their transactions at the two position groups. As training camp inches forward, look for the Battlehawks to continue add and subtract players in an effort to build a championship roster each day until week one begins.
