Arlington Renegades Release OL Darta Lee, Activate OL Teton Saltes

Ahead of their playoff matchup with the Houston Roughnecks, the Arlington Renegades make some movement with their depth on the offensive line.

The team announced Wednesday morning that they have released offensive lineman Darta Lee and activated offensive lineman Teton Saltes from the reserve/injured list.

Saltes was drafted by the team in the first round of the supplemental draft back in January. This is the first time that he has been on the active roster since being placed on the reserve list back on February 24. He has not seen the playing time on the field as he started as a backup on the offensive line.

Lee was drafted by the Renegades in the fourth round of the XFL Draft back in November. After spending time as a left tackle during training camp, Lee was released from the team as part of their final cutdown of the roster. The Renegades re-signed him back in the middle of the season to replace Saltes once he was placed on the reserve list.

The offensive line is solidified on who is starting and playing so this move is more about who they see as better fits for their depth. Arlington has leaned towards Saltes more with him being on the roster despite him not showing up on the depth chart through the first couple of weeks of the season. While Lee saw reps in training camp with the starters, he eventually lost his job to George Moore who started at left tackle in week one.

If Arlington has good news about the offensive line is that they seem to be healthier than they have been. Offensive guard Jake Stetz has been in and out of the lineup with injuries. The go-to backup offensive lineman has been Brian Folkerts as he has filled in on the line. Saltes is listed as the backup right tackle for Garrett McGhin so it will remain to be seen whether he is active for Saturday’s playoff matchup with Houston.
