It was an extremely busy day for fans of the Battlehawks. After seeing Six players earn a place on the All-XFL team, St. Louis fans can also praise the fact, that Defensive Lineman Elorm Lumor and Defensive Back Nate Meadors are also earning some post season honors. Lumor has received news that he will be working out with the Jacksonville Jaguars while Nate Meadors is joining Eric Magwood in Buffalo for a tryout as well.
Lumor is still awaiting his first NFL opportunity after coming out of Towson as a UDFA. Lumor played in over 50 games in college totaling 116 tackles, and 11 sacks from 2016 to 2021. In 2023, Lumor totaled 18 tackles and 4.0 sacks apart of a dynamic Battlehawks Defensive Line. His 4.0 sacks were 2nd to Travis Feeney on the team.
Nate Meadors is looking to return to the NFL after the 2023 XFL season. Originally, drafted by the Battlehawks in the 4th round of the XFL supplemental draft, Meadors delayed reporting to Camp, and spent the remainder of the 2022 NFL season with the Tennessee Titans. After the NFL season Meadors would return to Battlehawks totaling 37 Tackles and 2 interceptions in the spring of 2023.
Meadors and Lumor become the 8th and 9th players to receive an NFL workout since the conclusion of the Battlehawks season. With the XFL set to play their championship game this weekend on May 13th, XFL players will have to wait till the 15th to sign with an NFL team. While Coach Anthony Becht has been on record about being excited to coach a whole new team due the NFL taking his players, fans of the Battlehawks maybe saddened to see some of their new fan favorites depart after one season.
