Who are the NFL teams that rival fans tend to hate, and why?

Alongside following the various developments in the XFL, the allure of the NFL is also tough for many football fans to resist. However, in the same way, some people aren’t too keen on the Arlington Renegades or despise the Vegas Vipers, and some NFL teams aren’t generally liked by the massive community of football fans out there.

Of course, there are numerous reasons why these franchises tend to receive negative comments from rival fans, but it generally comes down to success. For fans who indulge in fantasy football and enjoy NFL betting, these teams and their highly talented players tend to dominate proceedings due to their solid track records. Additionally, there are teams football lovers hate due to a specific encounter from the past or the sense of entitlement from their fans. The reasons are diverse and almost endless.

With that in mind, below, we highlight some NFL teams that aren’t too popular outside their fan bases and why that’s the case. While it’s subjective, some franchises aren’t respected as much as others.

Kansas City Chiefs

A team many fans love to hate, the Kansas City Chiefs, has a massive following behind it. However, not every NFL fan has bought into the hype surrounding the Chiefs. Despite their dominance in recent years, some fans struggle to appreciate their success. Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift and the coverage it receives haven’t helped, while they’re deemed sore losers by many other fans. Many people want to see another franchise hog the limelight, so some NFL fanatics were pleased to see the Philadelphia Eagles reign supreme in the Super Bowl last time.

Green Bay Packers

Despite failing to get their hands on the Super Bowl prize since 2011, the Green Bay Packers aren’t viewed in a positive light by many rival fans. Fans outside the team despised figures like Aaron Rodgers, while the purported football town the team represents rubs many opposition fans up the wrong way.

New England Patriots

While the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t adored by all in the modern environment, the same applied to the New England Patriots in the early 2000s. A successful franchise with several cheating scandals associated with it, the Patriots would always be on the receiving end of some negativity. Their fans will understandably defend them to the hilt as they’ve played their part in some truly iconic NFL moments, while also winning the Super Bowl six times, but supporters of other NFL teams struggle to warm to them.

Dallas Cowboys

An easy pick to make, the Dallas Cowboys aren’t liked by people who don’t passionately follow them every week. For fans who struggle to watch the Cowboys in action, it’s mainly because they’re always picked for live games, the “America’s Team” label they’ve somehow been given isn’t entirely justified, and Jerry Jones is an unlikable figure. While they’re a successful team that knows how to win, many outsiders still do not respect them.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Be it due to perceived arrogance or the fact that they’ve come out on top in six Super Bowl encounters, the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t exactly loved outside their city. From getting all the big calls to the fact that they’ve tended to be up there battling away at the top with some formidable opponents over the years, the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.
