4 USFL 2022 Team Names Revealed In Updated League Shop

On Sunday, fans discovered that the USFL updated their merch shop with gear showing multiple team logos, team names, and their associated cities. The teams shown are the Philadelphia Stars, Pittsburgh Maulers, Birmingham Stallions, and New Orleans Breakers. Some have speculated that these may be teams from an “Eastern Conference” or something along those lines. Before today, the Shop USFL website had nothing besides a picture reading “coming soon.”

With word of the USFL getting $150 million from Fox over the next 3 years, it would appear the league does in fact have plans to move from a hub location to each team residing in their own unique city. Recently there’ve been talks of the USFL seeking approval from the city of Birmingham to host their 2022 hub, which some have said could bring a financial boom to the area.

For the 2022 season, there will be 8 total teams participating in a 10-week season, followed by 3 weeks of playoffs and a Championship game. Additionally, Fox plans to launch a very aggressive advertising campaign for the league, with games hosted on Fox Sports, NBC Sports, and other affiliated networks.

With only half of the teams revealed so far, one would assume the remaining 4 franchises will be announced relatively soon.

Keep in mind – Just because teams are listed on the Merch site doesn not mean they are the cities in 2022. They could list 10-15 teams to generate buzz and only 8 selected.

The USFL should bring back Spurrier and the Tampa Bay Bandits. The Bandits had a good fan base because they played good football and fun times were had by all, we called it Bandit Ball!!!. Also if the USFL keeps politics and the Woke bs away they’ll pick up alot of NFL fans that just want to watch good football. The USFL 83-85 had an amazing amount of talented players that in 86 put a lot of NFL players out of work when the league was officially ended.
All I really know is I’m ready for the season to start.

    Oklahoma Outlaws.

The originals partied 24/7, attracted more paying spectators than all but a handful of competing franchises, and boasted the USFL’s gnarliest logo.

    Awesome. Totally Awesome.
