New XFL Houston head coach/GM June Jones was asked about Johnny Manziel during his press conference. Jones knows Manziel from his days with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats in which Johnny was on the roster but later traded.
Jones said, “He played very good from me”. He went on to say that he expects to see Johnny Manziel in the XFL draft pool this year. As long as the league finds him to be Ok.
Manziel signed a two-year contract with the Tiger-Cats in 2018. He was on the team for six weeks before being traded to Montreal Alouettes. He played in only eight games in his first and only season in the CFL. He later played in the AAF’s for the Memphis Express before the league folded.
