Johnny Manziel is already trying to impress scouts of the AAF and XFL according to a report by TMZ.
Manziel was kicked out of the CFL last week for allegedly breaching his contract. The former Texas A&M and Cleveland Browns quarterback was playing for the Montreal Alouettes last season and was thought to be getting his life back on track.
Details are unclear as to how Manziel breached his contract, but regardless, the CFL felt strong enough to ban him from the league as a whole. Now in 2019 instead of the CFL and arena football as the last stop for a player with a troubled past, he now has two new options in the AAF and XFL. Judging from the video of Manziel throwing the ball around on the field recently. It seems to be the case. He wants in with a spring football league.
Manziel is on the field throwing the ball over a soccer net to a receiver. His arm is looking spot on and already in possible game shape.
The XFL will be playing its first game in February 2020, while the AAF is already in its fifth week of play. Charlie Ebersol AAF co-founder has stated in the past that if Manziel is “clean and clear” to play, he’d be open to have him in the AAF. The XFL on the other hand might not be interested. In the past Vince McMahon has stated he is not interested in players with arrest records or toubled pasts.
