Former Arizona Hotshots(AAF) LB Scooby Wright In XFL Showcase

Former Arizona Hotshots(AAF) Linebacker Philip Anthony “Scooby” Wright will be part of the XFL Summer Showcase in Los Angeles. The Cleveland Browns drafted him in the 2016 NFL Draft in the seventh round. He joins former Hotshots teammates Rahim Moore and Will Sutton June 21st at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Wright was a practice squad player for the Cleveland Browns in 2016 and Arizona Cardinals in 2017. He played his college ball for the University of Arizona. In his senior year, he was named a Unanimous All-American, Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, First-team All-Pac-12, Bronko Nagurski Trophy winner, Lombardi Award winner and Chuck Bednarik Award winner in 2014.

He got the nickname Scooby from his father when he was a baby.

The XFL is hosting Summer Showcases in each of its eight host cities to evaluate players for the XFL’s inaugural season in 2020. Los Angeles will have former NFL players Rahim Moore, Will Sutton, and Fred Davis in attendance. Stay with XFL News Hub for full coverage of this event.
