Neil Stratton of ITL has written an update on the latest XFL player agent details as we head into the player showcases in June and July. He talks about the upcoming XFL team personnel director announcement, showcases filling up quickly, and more.
Player interest in the XFL is high, as Stratton said.
“showcases are around the corner and that spots are filling up quickly, with some dates already at capacity.”
He notes that both the HBCU Camp and Hawaii camp are invitations only for a reason.
“HBCU camp and the engagement camp in Hawaii are by invitation only because the league is trying to tightly control participants, limiting them to only those of Pacific Islander heritage for the event held in Honolulu and to players from historically black schools for the HBCU workout.”
Stratton also talked about XFL team personnel directors announcement coming in June. An announcement would coincide with the rumored cities, names, and logos coming June 1st.
The league might be looking to get it all out there and focus on getting players, building fan interest, and selling season tickets.
“The league will announce its team-by-team personnel directors next month, though we’ve heard that timetable might be moved up so as not to miss out on any talented players from the ’22 draft class.”
The question has been for some if a player does not participate in the player showcase, can they still get drafted, Stratton says yes.
“it’s our understanding that players need not have participated in one of this summer’s engagement camps to be signed.”
June will be a massive month for the XFL, with showcases and announcements. Stay with XFL News Hub on the road to the 2023 kickoff.
