Jack Coan, the talented quarterback for the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL, has come a long way since his high school and college days. Coan, who was born on December 8, 1998, in Sayville, New York, played college football for Wisconsin and Notre Dame before finding his place in the professional arena.
High School and College Career
Coan attended Sayville High School in New York before committing to the University of Wisconsin in 2017. He took over the starting position for Wisconsin after three seasons, but a serious injury forced him to miss the entire 2020 season. Coan later transferred to the University of Notre Dame as a graduate student and was named the starting quarterback. After a successful season with the Fighting Irish, Coan entered the 2022 NFL Draft.
Professional Career
After going undrafted in 2022, Coan signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent. He was later waived by the Colts on August 30, 2022. Fortunately, Coan’s career took a positive turn when he was picked up by the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL on November 17, 2022, after the 2023 XFL Draft.

Coan’s performance with the San Antonio Brahmas has been impressive thus far. In the 2023 season, he has started in six games with a 2-4 record. Coan has completed 124 passes out of 206 attempts with a 60.2% completion rate, amassing 1,159 yards and six touchdowns. However, he has also thrown six interceptions, which he will need to improve upon moving forward.
The 6 ft 3 in, 221 lb quarterback has also proven his ability as a runner, with 25 rushing attempts for 105 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per attempt.
