According to a report from the Action Network, sports bettors put a lot on the line for week one of the new XFL’s 2020 season, the report states that the total amount bet was 20 times larger than the entire handle bet on the Alliance of American Football.
The start-up Spring league from 2019 went on for eight weeks before ceasing operations. The XFL, had four games spread out between Saturday and Sunday.
“The XFL was as big as some other popular leagues on our sportsbook. Nearly 25% of bettors, who placed a bet with us this weekend, placed a bet on the XFL.”

In the report, it says on Saturday, Draft Kings, super betting sites and FanDuel saw an increase 20-times that of the first two games of the AAF from the previous year.
“We saw momentum build on the XFL as the weekend progressed. Handle on XFL games increased from 55% from Saturday to Sunday and bet count increased from 31% from Saturday to Sunday.”

Early in the week, only point spreads were offered, but as of Friday over/unders were put up for each of the four games. This week, according to a source from Draft Kings, the online sportsbook will be offering a moneyline bet for each of the weekend’s four games to go with spreads and totals.
