Later ESPN’s Kevin Seifert had a chance to talk to Garcia and ask if they plan on returning for the 2021 season.

Spoke w/ @DanyGarciaCo, one of three investors buying the XFL. Plan is to play in 2021, she said, possibly in a bubble. Garcia will hold an executive role with the league. Asked about other leadership, she noted “excellent” people who are or were in place for XFL 2.0.
We have reported earlier plans to potentially play a 12-week tournament in a host city for the 2021 season. Houston seems to be the viable option at this point. It looks like all systems, at this point, is a go for a 2021 XFL season.
It should also be noted that Dany Garcia is the first woman ever to own a sports league. It was Garcia’s idea behind purchasing the XFL in the first place.

This is amazing news! One MAJOR thing to know about bringing the XFL back and bringing the love of football TRULY back to fans who want to actually see pro sports happen, NO POLITICS AT ALL. THAT’S what will make me watch the return of the XFL. PLEASE make this rule happen, guys! #XFLISBACK.
