Wildcats Trade LB Johnson To DC Defenders For CB Sylve

Last weekend Anthony Johnson was defensive captain for the Los Angeles Wildcats. Playing under defensive coordinator and, 5 time Super Bowl champion Pepper Johnson.

Less than a week later Pepper Jonhson is no longer coaching in LA and Anthony Johnson goes from the west coast to the east coast landing in DC.

After LA’s loss to the Houston Roughnecks in Week 1, head coach Winston Moss was ready to make changes early in the XFL season and made a statement to his players.

Johnson is no stranger to the Washington DC football. Playing briefly with the Washington Redskins in 2015.

He is now reunited with his former LA Wildcats teammate Rashad Ross who was also traded from LA during training camp.

Bradley Sylve played for the University of Alabama, where he won two BCS National Championships. Sylve recorded a pick-six in the Defenders’ 31-19 win over the Seattle Dragons on Saturday. No word on if both players will suit up for this weekend’s games.

The Wildcats play the Renegades in Los Angeles Sunday at 2 pm. The DC Defenders take on the New York Guardians in DC at 2 pm on Saturday.
