Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic, reports on the latest court filings by Vince McMahon and his Alpha Entertainment. On Tuesday, McMahon filed papers in federal court in Connecticut to unseal the termination letter he sent to XFL CEO and Commissioner Oliver Luck on April 9th.
“Luck in his lawsuit has sought to seal the letters and his contract. McMahon does not object to the sealing of certain contract terms but apparently wants the termination letter public.”

McMahon argued in court papers that,
“In this case, Luck improperly seeks to seal not only the generic terms of the Contract, but also the letters addressing the reasons for Luck’s termination. There is no reason, let alone a compelling reason, for sealing such information that would outweigh the presumption of public access to judicial documents.”
McMahon has asked for this matter to be resolved as early as today. These legal proceedings going forward will get ugly. There is a reason why Luck wanted these documents sealed. They could hurt Luck’s reputation. McMahon wants them open to the public to save face.
Also, this week a federal bankruptcy judge invalidated all the contracts of XFL players and coaches. Former XFL team presidents and Dallas Renegades head coach Bob Stoops have filed claims seeking to recoup some of the money they lost in the league shut down.
