TMZ Sports reports that TOGETHXR has filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the XFL over its X logo. TOGETHXR is a media organization co-founded by Sue Bird, Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, and Simone Manuel.
When the XFL debuted its new logo in April, Sue Bird tweeted out the following.
“Well doesn’t this looks familiar @XFL2023 @togethxr @TheRock“
When the new XFL logo was announced, The Rock talked about the significance of the X in XFL.
“Pumped to reveal our new @XFL2023 logo as we build our organization and shape our one of a kind, hungry XFL culture. X represents the INTERSECTION OF DREAMS & OPPORTUNITY. To all our XFL players, coaches, fans; You bring the dreams – we’ll bring the opportunity. Now LFG! #XFL2023“
R/GA was the company that designed the new look for the XFL 3.0 era. This is what the XFL’s official press release said about them.
“R/GA, a global brand design and marketing company has been awarded Agency of Record. R/GA started working with the XFL in 2021 to support the league’s marketing efforts, including brand identity, design innovation, and campaign activation.”
We reported that the X in XFL looked similar to several other logos, but no one owns the letter X. If you look at them, they are different, not the exact same thing.
XFL News Hub will continue to follow this lawsuit as it moves through the courts.
