According to a report from Pro Football Talk‘s Mike Florio, the XFL has decided how they will attack their contract situation given the suspension of their season. All XFL contracts run officially through May 31st, but given the fact that NFL free agency (for unrestricted players) begins March 18, holding players to an iron clade contract through the end of May would be selfish and keep the league from one of its major goals.
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the XFL will release a player from his contract if a ‘credible contractual offer’ is made by an NFL or CFL team, and if the offer is submitted to the XFL.”
From Mike Florio’s Pro Football Talk Article
The XFL has already established that players will be permitted to participate in NFL or CFL workouts if they’re invited, but the player will have to sign a waiver that says he will remain in his XFL contract.
This report lines up with the XFL’s mission from back when they started the league. They committed themselves to quality football with high-quality players who aren’t in America’s top league (NFL). The league would be a place for top free-agent talent to show themselves off in real game action and put themselves in a position to get back to the NFL. Hopefully, things work out as so for the XFL, and it’s top players.
Stay tuned to XFL News Hub for the latest on XFL players as they enter NFL free agency.

I’d much rather be in the XFL vs. the CFL.

Why is that in the cfl you get paid more And There’s overall more fans in attendance. The us has 328 million people and they can only get 800,000 to watch a xfl game in tv ratings that’s sad. Also the quality of talent in the xfl sucks
