The XFL has made a decision. After the benches clearing incident that took place on Sunday’s vs the Defenders, starting Offensive Tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith, has been suspended among several players and One coach receiving fines. Jones-Smith whose one of the teams’ more experienced players will now be on the bench giving Offensive Lineman Eric Magwood his first opportunity to start for the Battlehawks this week.
Among those also fined for the Battlehawks, was Nate Meadors DB, Travis Feeney LB, Brian Hill RB, and Special Teams Coordinator Tory Woodbury. The details of the fines have not been released by the XFL, however, Two Defenders players, Francis Bernard (2-games) and Gabe Wright (1-game) were also suspended. The Defenders also saw three of their players also receive fines, in addition to their coach Jeremy Watkins.
While the Battlehawks, may have received the lesser of penalties regarding their scuffle on Sunday, being without Jones-Smith, for the next two weeks will definitely be felt. St. Louis has recently started implementing Dallas Warmack at both Guard Positions however, the team has yet to utilize their “swing” tackle as Jones-Smith, and Bushell-Beatty have both been healthy this whole season. As of right now it appears Eric Magwood will be the next man up for the Battlehawks as they return to the dome this Sunday.
