It didn’t take long for Dallas Renegades RB/KR Austin Walter to sign with a team after being cut by the 49ers. Walter now moves to the east coast with the New York Jets. He joins BattleHawks Connor Davis on the Jets roster. There are 7 other Renegades players on NFL rosters.
In February, the San Francisco 49ers signed the former Dallas RB to one year deal, for $780,000. Then last week, they announced he had been cut. Jets claimed Walter and waived RB Pete Guerriero. Walter has familiarity with new Jets coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur from their time together with the 49ers.
For the 49ers Walter played 12 offensive snaps with one reception for 27 yards and one rush for three yards. He also returned five kicks 93 yards.
Walter was drafted by the Renegades in the 2020 XFL Supplemental Draft. He appeared in all 5 XFL games and had 4 carries for 19 yards and 2 receptions for 31 yards.

I can’t believe the jets cut Pete Guerriero for this bum.
