Luck Vs McMahon Lawsuit Settlement Conference Set

According to PWInsider, former XFL owner Vince McMahon and former XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck are set to meet for a settlement conference on March 15th. This is ahead of the July trial that was set last week.

They will meet in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The hope is that the two sides can agree on a settlement to end their lawsuit against each other. The trial is set for July 11th, 2022.

The former XFL Commissioner filed a lawsuit against Alpha Entertainment LLC and McMahon for wrongful termination back in April of 2020. Luck claims he is owed the $23.8 million left on his contract, as well as other damages and attorney fees. He was reportedly making $5 million per year as the CEO and Commissioner of the XFL.

McMahon filed a countersuit alleging that Luck defied his orders when signing players and used the company phone for personal use. He later alleged that Luck shared confidential XFL league information with NFL agent William Wilson, Luck’s brother-in-law.

The XFL filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April of 2020. The league was then purchased for $15 million in August 2020 by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital Partners.
