The NAZ Wranglers have announced that they have had additional players selected to continue their professional football careers in the XFL. Wrangler’s defensive end JaQuan Artis and defensive lineman Ulric Jones will both be taking their talents to the outdoor game and the XFL.
Both Artis and Jones were key players for the Wrangler’s defense as they made their run to their first IFL championship. Artis was named the IFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year with 9.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, 40 tackles, 2 pass breakups, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 forced fumble while appearing in 13 games for the Wranglers. The 6’6″ 245-pound defensive lineman Jones also had a successful run in the Wranglers 2022 season.
As IFL players are looking for a team to call home for the 2023 season the ability of the Wranglers to move players to a higher level of football while being successful on the field will draw interest from players attempting to for an opportunity to play outdoor football.
This off-season the Wranglers have moved multiple players onto the XFL with the majority being players on the line of scrimmage. The offensive line and defensive line players tend to be in high demand at all levels of football. While the loss of two talented defensive linemen may create some holes that the Wranglers need to fill on their defense, the positive publicity of moving players to the XFL will most likely make that process easier.
This off-season has proven that if a young player can come into the IFL and make their mark then there will be opportunities for those players to advance their careers to bigger and better opportunities.
