Hal Mumme Arrested and Charged in Altercation

Former Dallas Renegades offensive coordinator and The Spring League’s Lineman head coach Hal Mumme was arrested Friday morning at the Hyatt in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.

Mumme has been charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. Mumme reportedly refused to leave the premises when asked to and was “physical” while he was being detained.

Mumme has since appeared in court Friday afternoon and pleaded guilty to both misdemeanor charges. His court costs were waived by the judge and his time was deemed served.

Mumme was one of the progenitors of the Air Raid offense and implemented this scheme under Renegades head coach Bob Stoops in the XFL 2.0. In 2021 Mumme led the Lineman to a championship victory in the Mega Bowl.

Stoops is set to return to the XFL in 2023, but no word so far on whether Mumme will rejoin him or another team in the newest iteration of the league.
