Former DC Defenders QB Cardale Jones Hints He Wants to Play in Green Bay

Tis the season for free agents to promote themselves in hopes of finding a spot in an NFL training camp. Former DC Defenders QB Cardale Jones has done just that, via Twitter:

The hint is in reference to the belief that current Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers would rather retire than suit up for the club this year. The rift between Rodgers and the club has led to many sportsbooks pulling the option to bet on the likelihood.

Jones started out on fire with the Defenders in 2020, showing that he does have the talent to play in professional football. After 2 games he amassed over 500 yards passing, 4 TDs, and a 103.5 QB rating. The last few games of that shortened season didn’t go as well, but he was still one of the better QBs in the XFL.

He has had some time in NFL experience with the Bills, Seahawks, and Chargers. He also won a national championship with Ohio State University.
