Falcons Sign LaCale London to 53-Man Roster

After Two weeks of elevations LaCale London’s hard work has finally paid off. The Western Illinois Alum has cemented himself into the Falcons Defensive Line rotation earning a spot on the 53-Man Roster earlier in the week. London announced the news himself via an Instagram post, with the Falcons and the XFL confirming later.

London was elevated from the Falcons’ practice squad in Week 6 and Week 7, appearing in 44 combined snaps on Defense and Special Teams. He recorded four tackles and a fumble recovery in those games to help earn the promotion from the Falcons. In the spring London recorded 33 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for the Battlehawks during the 2023 XFL season. London now joins former Defenders Punter Daniel Whelan as the only two players to have a roster spot on the 53-Man roster in the NFL.

Other XFL 2023 Alumni Transaction:

Jacques Patrick was released once again by the Tennessee Titans. The former Florida State Running Back has spent time with the Broncos, and Titans this year being cut from the Tennessee Practice Squad twice in 2023. Patrick is also a veteran of the 2020 XFL, playing with the Tampa Bay Vipers.

Michael Bandy was also brought back to the Broncos Practice Squad. A veteran of Brian Woods’ Spring League, Bandy played with the Houston Roughnecks in 2023, before joining Denver. The San Diego Alum, has bounced on and off the Practice Squad for Denver several times this season.

While merger talks with the USFL continue, Coach Anthony Becht and DPP Dave Boller continue to build their roster for the 2024 season. The Battlehawks saw 15 players earn NFL contracts with players like A.J. McCarron, LaCale London, Marcell Ateman, and Lukas Denis all serving time on Practice squads.
