We have learned more details on this Friday’s yet to be announced XFL Supplemental draft. The primary XFL draft took place on October 15th and 16th.
The Supplemental draft will start at noon eastern time this Friday, November 22nd. The event WILL NOT be streamed live on the web, as the October draft did.
Selections will be announced via social media, similar to the Open Phase five draft. The draft format will be a snake format identical to the Open Phase five draft, as well. Unlike that draft, teams can make as many picks as they need until their 70 man rosters are full.
Depending on how many players decided to skip the XFL and not sign with the league will determine how many are picked per team. For example, the Houston Roughnecks might only take five players in the draft while the DC Defenders could take twelve players.
We reported last week that players who received draft invites and did not get selected in the October draft are now automatically part of the Supplemental Draft. This draft will also include new players invited. We reported previously on some players announcing their invites via social media.
We don’t know if the league will release the eligible player names before the draft. We have a list of top players not selected in the October draft. Also, it is unclear how many players will be selected per team. It will be interesting to see how many players decided not to play in the XFL. We can figure that out by how players are selected per team.
We hear that this week will be a big one for XFL news between Tuesday’s Training camp announcement and potential details on team mini-camps. With team presidents, coaches, and PR teams all meeting in Connecticut last week, we hear there is some big news coming for fans.
Stay with XFL News Hub for all the details as they become available. We will have live pre Supplemental Draft coverage at 11 am eastern on Friday via our YouTube channel.
