Each “Dormant” XFL Teams Can’t Miss Player for the Dispersal Draft

With December 27th looming for the XFL’s Phase 1 dispersal draft many XFL players from the Four “dormant” franchises will sit feverishly by their phone waiting for a call that their careers will remain active for the 2024 season. With Jeff Badet’s tweets opening the floodgates of rumors, speculations, and everything in between let’s take a look at Four players who should get an opportunity with a new team come March 30th 2024.

Houston Roughnecks: Brandon Silvers Quarterback

Career 3,574 Passing Yards 32 Passing TDs 16 Ints

Silvers is Alt-Football staple at this point in his career. With his time in the AAF, TSL, XFL 2.0/3.0, and even a stint in the FCF, Silvers has produced in multiple leagues especially when paired up with Offensive Coordinator A.J. Smith. Despite injuries, Silvers still managed to produce a respectable season missing Two games but still finishing in the top tier of XFL QBs in 2023. While Silvers best days may behind the Troy alum still has plenty left in the tank and could easily step in to be QB1 for teams like the Battlehawks, Gamblers, or Panthers.

Orlando Guardians: Cody Latimer Tight End

Career Stats: 50 Receptions 593 Receiving Yards 4 Touchdowns

Latimer used the 2023 XFL season to successfully transition from WR to TE quickly becoming the league’s most dynamic pass catchers despite missing One game. Earning and All-XFL selection at his position, Latimer was a consistent force in the Guardians offense despite some instability at Quarterback. Regardless of who is under center in 2024, Latimer should be primed for another standout season in hopes of an NFL opportunity.

Seattle Sea Dragons: Jahcour Pearson Wide Receiver

Career Stats: 60 Receptions 674 Receiving Yards 4 Touchdowns

The XFL’s leading receiver should be garnering plenty of interest come 2024 with multiple teams in the market for a shifty receiver with the ability to stretch the field. Pearson who was the recipient of several NFL workouts still remains with Sea Dragons going into this dispersal draft. With a team like Arlington looking for a bit more speed on the outside, Pearson could easily fit that role.

Vegas Vipers: Jeff Badet Wide Receiver

Career Stats: 51 Receptions 568 Receiving Yards 5 Touchdowns

Badet goes into his 4th Spring Football season after becoming the Vipers most dependable target in 2023. Badet who has come to the forefront after leaking his team email should be a prominent target for teams looking to bolster their Receiving Corps. While Badet did hint on the X Fan Show that St. Louis was “good” at the position group, it’s not out of the question for a reunion with his old college coach Bob Stoops.
