Back in February, the San Francisco 49ers announced they had signed former Dallas Renegades RB Austin Walter to a contract extension. The deal was reportedly one year, for $780,000. In May, they announced he has been cut.
Walter was drafted by the Dallas Renegades in the 2020 XFL Supplemental Draft. He appeared in all 5 XFL games and had 4 carries for 19 yards and 2 receptions for 31 yards.
For the 49ers he appeared in 4 games and had 1 rushing attempt for 3 yards and 1 reception for 27 yards. He was mostly used as a kickoff/return specialist finishing the season with 93 yards.
