Dallas Renegades QB Eric Dungey has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. Dungey was expected to play in the TSL this season for the Blues but got the Bengals invite to camp. Deondre Francois replaced Dungey as the main QB for the Blues.
He joins Vipers RB Jacques Patrick on the roster and the 6th Renegades player to sign an NFL Futures deal.
At 24, Dungey was undrafted in 2019 after playing his college ball at Syracuse. He then signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the New York Giants, but was waived a few months later. He then signed with the Cleveland Browns but was released from their practice squad late in 2019. In 2020 he signed on to play for the Dallas Renegades in the XFL.
Dungey was mainly the third-string QB for Dallas behind Landry Jones and Phillip Nelson. A 4-year starter at Syracuse, he passed for over 9,340 yards and 58 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,993 yards and 35 touchdowns.
