The Cleveland Browns signed St Louis BattleHawks TE Connor Davis on Friday. He is the third XFL player to sign a Futures Contract with the team. He joins K Matt McCrane (Guardians) and LB Montrel Meander (Renegades). Davis is one of 5 BattleHawks players on NFL rosters.
Davis signed with the BattleHawks from Team 9 after tight end Cole Hunt was placed on injured reserve. He spent Weeks 11-17 on the New York Jets’ practice squad this past season.
He spent time with the New York Giants and played for the Birmingham Iron in the AAF. Davis played his college ball at Stony Brook in New York and is known as a more blocking Tight End.
He will have a tough hill to climb to make the roster. The Browns tight end room is already stacked, with Austin Hooper, David Njoku, Harrison Bryant, Stephen Carlson, and Jordan Franks.
