We previously reported on the XFL Salary structure but today we learned more. Per Pro Football Talk, the minimum salary that an XFL player can make will be 55K on the season. Players are paid bi-weekly, and also earn gameday and win bonuses. The $2222 paid out to each member of the winning team should make play much more competitive, as people around the roster will really be gunning for that W.
While the pay is not commensurate with NFL salaries at tiers 3 and 4 (which offer 50-70k, and 70-100k respectively), it’s still very competitive for what college graduates often make, and younger players fresh out of college should not shy away for these spots.
In addition to the opportunity to potentially make 6 figures with bonuses, these players get to showcase their skills on the national stage and continue their careers.
Tiers 1 and 2 remain competitive with NFL salaries, as players can make up to $600,000, compared to the NFL guaranteed minimum of $495,000.
The XFL may not be dishing out multi-million dollar headline deals this season, but players can still make good money while chasing their dreams
