Colin Kaepernick Wanted $20 Million To Play In XFL

According to a report by Michael McCarthy of the Sporting News. Former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick talked with XFL executives about joining the league this past fall.

In the report, an XFL spokesman confirmed that Kaepernick talked with executives about joining the league. Where the talks lead no one knows as the XFL spokesman declined to comment any further. The report goes on to say the asking price for him to play was $20 million.

The report comes several weeks after news broke that talks between Kaepernick and the AAF over a similar $20 million price tag broke down.

Colin Kaepernick recently settled his collusion case against the NFL. He has indicated an interest in getting back to playing football after a two-year absence. Rumors of possibly landing with the Carolina Panthers have been reported.

The XFL and AAF would love the press and interest related to him, but at an asking price of $20 million, it seems highly unlikely. However, if no NFL team has an interest in him by the fall his price tag could come down.
