During Fox’s coverage of the playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. An XFL commercial was dropped and we felt it on XFL News Hub.
At around 8:13 pm EST, our site traffic jumped a whopping 4,000%. Our server didn’t hold it and it went down for a couple of minutes until the search volume went down. We were back online within a couple of minutes.
XFL News Hub reporter Mickey J Wind noticed the impact the commercial had on the XFL’s official Twitter account.
This is an exciting time as new fans are coming into the XFL as the NFL season wraps up. We were not sure how a promotion on nation TV would affect the XFL as well as our site. Now we know it will and we are ready for it next time.
Since Fox will be broadcasting this year’s Super Bowl. It is safe to assume there will be an XFL commercial or two broadcasted during the game. With the world and everyone in the country watching, that broadcast partnership will come in handy with the league set to kick off the next week.

I did notice that XFL ad during the Seahawks/Packers game and expect to see an ad
during the AFC/NCF Conference Championship games as well as the Super Bowl. I hope
the XFL uses some kind of catchy theme music during the opening of their
broadcasts.
