XFL 2023: Seattle Sea Dragons Schedule Review

On Thursday, the XFL released the long-awaited season schedule, detailing a 10-week regular season followed by one week of playoffs and the championship game. Also listed was the TV schedule, confirming games will be played across ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, and FX, with every game of the year also available on ESPN+ in 142 countries worldwide.

The Seattle Sea Dragons kick off Week 1 with a Sunday Night matchup on the road against the D.C. Defenders, a rematch of the 2020 season opener. The game will kick off on February 19th at 5:00 pm PT at Audi Field and will be featured on ESPN and ESPN+.

The Sea Dragons will face the St. Louis Battlehawks at Lumen Field for their home opener, which will also be the league’s first-ever Thursday Night matchup. Kickoff is set for February 23rd at 6:00 pm PT and will be featured on FX & ESPN+.

Divisions

The XFL also announced how divisions would be aligned for 2023. The Sea Dragons will be a part of the league’s North Division, which includes the D.C. Defenders, St. Louis Battlehawks, and Vegas Vipers. The South Division will hold the Arlington Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Orlando Guardians, and San Antonio Brahmas.

Seattle will play each North Division opponent twice and each South Division opponent once during the 2023 regular season.

The Seattle Sea Dragons have one of the more unique and inconsistent schedules in the entire XFL, featuring the league’s only two Thursday Night matchups (Week 2 & Week 5), the league’s only Friday Night game (Week 7), and a game on Easter Sunday (Week 8).
