Seattle Dragons Kyle Queiro Suffered Season-ending Injury

Linebacker Kyle Queiro suffered a season-ending injury Saturday, handing another hit to the Seattle Dragons after the team lost to the Houston Roughnecks.

Queiro reported Sunday he busted his collarbone during the Dragons 32-23 loss to the unbeaten Roughnecks, dropping Seattle to 1-4 on the season.

The linebacker tweeted the bad news Sunday,

“The #XFL officiating needs to improve. 1st play of the game I let the referee know that if he doesn’t call clipping that someone will get hurt. 2 hours later I break my collarbone from a block in the back. Ending my season. But, still glory to God.”

Queiro has been a solid contributor for the Dragons defense. He was runner-up for player of the week in week two after securing the game-clinching interception in the Dragons only win this season.

He has six tackles this season along with one tackle for loss, one interception, and two pass break-ups. Queiro batted down a pass from quarterback P.J. Walker on Houston’s first point after attempt with 6:18 left in the second quarter Saturday.

The 25-year-old former Big Ten standout at Northwestern was last on an NFL roster in August 2019 with the Dallas Cowboys.

Unfortunately, the 2020 XFL season is over for Queiro, but the next step in his football career will need to be bouncing back from this tough-luck injury.

I would really like to see the Seattle Dragons bounce back this weekend with a W. Tough loss for the defense. Do we know if silvers still has the starting job?

My guess is that Zorn will confirm tomorrow but Daniels will likely be the guy again this week.
