McMahon Accuses Luck of Sharing “Confidential” XFL Info

The drama continues to build in the Oliver Luck v. Vince McMahon lawsuit that stems from the former XFL CEO and Commissioner believing he was fired without cause, and subsequently due his salary – in full.

Luck filed the lawsuit in April of 2020, and this latest update stems from an amended countersuit filed by McMahon/Alpha.

The original response from Alpha claimed insubordination by Luck led to the dismissal; in the forms of violating XFL rules by hiring players with questionable backgrounds, and misuse of an electronic device provided by Alpha.

In this newly filed counterclaim, McMahon alleges that Luck disclosed confidential XFL information with agent William Wilson:

“Luck repeatedly disclosed the confidential information of the XFL to William Wilson, his brother-in-law and an employee of the Wasserman Media Group, a sports agency that represented professional athletes.”

The claim also states that Luck did not have McMahon’s consent, written or otherwise, to share the privileged, or confidential information.

There has not been a response filed yet, and trial won’t happen until October of this year, so there is still a lot of posturing and time for potential negotiations to take place.

Recently, RedBird Capital Partners bought a minority stake in sports marketing and talent agency Wasserman Media Group. It is not related at all to this lawsuit.
