Former Houston Roughnecks WR Cam Phillips was in camp with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats until roster cuts were announced on Thursday. By Friday, the former Virginia Tech star had a new team, the Toronto Argonauts.
Phillips signed with the Argonauts after becoming a free agent in the CFL.
Cam spent time in the NFL with the Bills and Panthers, but really broke out during the pandemic-shortened XFL season, where he led all receivers in catches (31), yards (455), and touchdowns (9).
The Tiger-Cats roster was full of highly talented receivers, so while we know what Phillips can do, it was an uphill battle for the former Hokie.
But now he takes his talents to Toronto, where he should be able to continue what he did for the Roughnecks.
