DC Defenders Beer Snake is Back, With Some Rules Fans Need To Follow

With the return of the XFL in 2023, aside from the league being back for a third time under the leadership of Dany Garica, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Redbird Capital. Fans of the 2020 XFL were incredibly excited to see two things in 2023. A packed Dome for the St Louis BattleHawks and the return of the DC Defenders Beer Snake.

The St Louis BattleHawks are expected to have over 32,000 in their home opener next week. Week 1 for the Beer Snake in DC was not so promising.

Many security staff at the event against the Seattle Sea Dragons were unaware of what the Beer Snake was and how important the tradition was for fans.

As fans started to put it together, security left them alone. The tone in the stadium changed when security began confiscating the snake when fans started throwing cups. They did that multiple times throughout the game, basically sucking the life out of the stadium.

In the second half, we then got the Lemons on the field.

On the XFL Week In Review Podcast, we discussed the need for the Beer Snake and how the league and Audi Field can make it safe for fans.

It looks like they were listening and made the following ruling.

Week 3, game 2 of the 2023 XFL season, sees the undefeated St Louis Battlehawks against the undefeated DC Defenders with the return of the Beer Snake. The rumor is Audi field is close to a sellout.
