Bob Stoops Taking Pay Cut From Oklahoma To Coach In XFL

Oudaily is reporting that XFL Dallas Head Coach/GM Bob Stoops is taking a pay cut to coach in the XFL. Stoops came out of retirement to join the league.

According to the report, Stoops is voluntarily taking a pay cut from $325,000 a year to $162,000. This is according to the Board of Regents agenda from the University of Oklahoma. His title is Special Assistant to the Athletic Director where he was a paid staff member since his retirement in 2017.

Stoops coached the Oklahoma Sooners from 1999 to 2016. He had a record of 190 – 48 a won a national title in 2000.

He was announced as the new Head Coach/GM of the XFL Dallas franchise in February of 2019.
