Arlington Renegades Sign Jake Molinich, Move Isaac Nauta To Reserve List

The Arlington Renegades continue to make moves to the roster as they sign fullback/tight end Jake Molinich to the roster as well as move tight end Isaac Nauta to the reserve list.

Perez Sports Associates, LLC made the announcement on their Twitter page Monday morning as he travels to Arlington to join the Renegades in practice.

As for Nauta, he was seen on the reserve list through the XFL website Monday morning.

Molinich played his college football at Buffalo where he was a mix of being a fullback in the backfield as well as the main blocking tight end for the team. He started all 12 games in his senior season in 2021 where he recorded two rushing touchdowns as well as catching five passes for 60 yards and one touchdown during that season. At the end of the season, he was named Academic All-MAC for the conference.

Nauta was originally drafted in the fifth round of the open phase of the XFL Draft back in November. Nauta played three seasons at Georgia, where he recorded 68 catches for 430 yards and eight touchdowns. He earned Freshman All-American honors in 2016. The Lions selected him in the seventh round of the NFL Draft in 2019, where he played for them and the Packers between 2019 and 2021. He completed three passes for 16 yards in his three-year NFL career.

The move for the Renegades shows that they are looking to get some more blockers in for their offense as Molinich could be used for goal-line situations. Arlington’s current tight end position has four on the roster with Sal Cannella and Shaun Beyer looking like the top two tight ends on the depth chart. Should Molinich prove his blocking abilities to be good, he could earn his way onto the roster blocking for the running backs.
