Every fan of football certainly knows that Vince McMahon’s spring football league ceremoniously opened just after the Super Bowl with eight crews stretching over the states. If you still can’t cope with the ending of the NFL season and got stuck in football research topics to find something ongoing, the XFL is a marvelous option to get you involved in.
You don’t have to worry about the crews you think you might probably not know about. The majority of players are widely known for everyone, from NFL apprentices to former college exceptional players. It would be reasonable to mention that the groups are to complete a 10-week season that will take three months, reaching its peak in a championship game in April. Have a glance below at some of the teams that construct the new league that are to draw fans’ attention.
St. Louis BattleHawks
The head coach, who is Jonathan Hayes, is to train the team at The Dome at America’s Center home stadium. The key players are Marquette King (P), Jordan Ta’amu (QB), and Will Hill (S). The odds of winning the title are 7/1. Upon further examination of the team players, it becomes apparent that you might know Jordan Ta’amu (QB) for the reason that he started for Ole Miss in 2019, having on his score 19 touchdowns, throwing for 3,918 yards, and eight blockings on the year.
Before BattleHawks, Ta’amu spent training camp with the Houston Texans, but sadly he didn’t succeed in being included in the final list of players. With regard to the first week stat line, he scored one touchdown, 20/27, 108.4 rating, and 209 passing yards.
When it comes to Marquette King, for some reason, he became a charismatic and omnipresent figure. Meaning he is associated with robust and excellent punting. However, because he fell out of the NFL, he transferred into XFL, and if to consider the fact that the XFL doesn’t put much stress on punting, Marquette King remains a player worthy of watching and analyzing. Week 1 stat line tells that he scored five punts, and has an average of 45.2 yards.
Tampa Bay Vipers
While being located in Raymond James Stadium, the head coach Marc Trestman does his best to focus on the most powerful skills of the team members, such as Aaron Murray (QB) and Quinton Flowers (RB/QB) in order to increase the chance of winning the title, which is now considered to be 6/1.
If to talk about Quinton Flowers, during the first week, he grabbed five attempts and 34 rushing yards and played quarterback throughout his college career at USF. Interestingly enough, he got highly interested in the NFL in running back position. As a consequence, he didn’t make the roster, and the Vipers put him as a running back.
As to Aaron Murray, you may well remember him for his stunning 121 touchdowns when he used to play at Georgia, being a teammate to such names as Tim Tebow, Tua Tagovailoa, and Peyton Manning. To be short but precise, last year, he represented the AAF for the Atlanta Legends and confidently led the team to the first win.
Dallas Renegades
Bob Stoops knows how to lead the team to win the championship of the true football. The team is located at Globe Life Park in Arlington, having ‘trumps’ like Landry Jones (QB) and Jazz Furguson (WR) as critical players.
Landry Jones, unfortunately, does not possess the first-week stats for a reason for a knee injury. Indubitably, you know him for his infamous acts in Oklahoma Sooner. Overall he appeared in 18 games over his NFL path. Even though he has never hit the luck to see an extended time as a starting quarterback, his present opportunities look oft-bright because he reconciled with his college instructor, now coach, Bob Stoops.
Equally important, Jazz Ferguson is considered, especially in incorporation with Jones and Stoops, to be the team’s top-notch receiver. As to the stat, he has two receptions and nine receiving yards. It would be plausible to mention that he ran a 4.45 at the combine, he was not contracted to play in 2019. However, he spontaneously joined the Seattle Seahawks during the training camp.
Los Angeles Wildcats
In a nutshell, the team is situated in Dignity Health Sports Park, coached by Winston Moss. Notable players are Nick Novak (K) and Josh Johnson (QB).
Needless to say about Josh Johnson because he is a widely encountered player with a humongous experience by reason of being part of Buccaneers, Browns, Jets, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Giants, Raiders, Lions, and many more. He took his first game as a starting quarterback in 2018, when he was part of Washingtonians, after 11 seasons of his NFL path. Unluckily he has a thigh injury and doesn’t have any stat.
In the same fashion, Nick Novak has a rich experience in playing in various teams, such as Bears, Chiefs, Texans, Jets, Cowboys, Redskins, Cardinals, and Charges. As the AAF proved last year, spring football is the highest time for kickers to showcase their unrevealed opportunities.
Final Words
In order to conclude, the current XFL season is exceptionally prolific in college players as well as NFL stars, which, in turn, divulges the importance and uniqueness of the XFL league. Besides, the aforementioned league is a great chance to show one’s abilities during the spring season and to gather new experience cooperating with well-known coaches. The list of teams only shows a few of them, but it sheds light on a diversity of teams and their chances to win the title.
