Two weeks into the new season, the XFL standings are starting to take shape. Three teams (Houston Roughnecks, St. Louis Battlehawks, and DC Defenders) have started the 2023 XFL campaign pretty well, standing undefeated at 2-0. However, three more teams (the Orlando Guardians, Seattle Sea Dragons, and Vegas Vipers) stand winless at 0-2.
This season’s theme seems to be impressive comebacks, with the XFL’s score-friendly rules received well by football fans. With that said, here’s a look at the 2023 XFL championship odds and potential favorites to win the league.
2023 XFL Championship odds: Favorites
D.C Defenders (+300)
The DC Defenders’ Odds of winning the XFL championship in 2023 continue falling quickly as they establish themselves to be among the top teams in the league. The Defenders have a home and an away win, leading the XFL with 313 rushing yards in two games. However, they have recorded all their four touchdowns on the ground.
Houston Roughnecks (+300)
With Wade Phillips back in the team during their first meeting in January, the Roughnecks have had a great start to the season and they’re currently tied with the Defenders as the bookies’ favorites. As such, sports betting punters at Betway might find it valuable to wager on the Roughnecks, considering they have the second-best passing yards and the best seven total touchdowns in the XFL.
St. Louis Battlehawks (+350)
St. Louis is another bookies’ favorite that Betway punters will want to seriously consider when betting. The Battlehawks came from behind when going against the Sea Dragons, claiming a 20-18 win on Thursday during the XFL Week 2 games. The team is set to face their toughest game this season on Sunday of Week 3 when they will go against the DC Defenders. However, their extended rest should work in their favor.
2023 XFL Championship Odds: Contenders
Arlington Renegades (+550)
The Renegades’ come-from-behind victory over the Vipers during Week 1 seems less impressive after Week 2. The team was crushed 23-14 by the Houston Roughnecks, but they were on the road. Arlington will be home for their Week 3 match against the bottom-ranked Guardians.
San Antonio Brahmas (+750)
San Antonio Brahmas managed to turn back their fortunes after a disappointing 3-point loss against the Battlehawks during Week 1, routing the Guardians 30-12 results in Week 12. However, things are expected to be a little difficult in Week 3, when they visit the Roughnecks.
Seattle Sea Dragons (+1000)
The Seattle Sea Dragons have lost a total of six points in two games. These losses came against the Battlehawks and Defenders, two undefeated teams in the FL. The Sea Dragons will be visiting the Vegas Vipers in their Week 3 match, before going back home to play the San Antonio Brahmas in Week 4. As such, Seattle’s XFL championship odds might stabilize with a little success against the better-suited teams.
Vegas Vipers (+1200)
While the Vegas Vipers are somewhat of a long shot, they still stand a chance to strongly challenge other teams for the championship title. The Vipers had a tight game against the Renegades away from home during Week 1, where they lost 22-20. However, their first home game this season resulted in an 18-6 crash against the Defenders.
