Mobile Stallions Added To USFL’s Trademark Names List

Recently the NSFL EnterprisesCo, LLC, which owns the rights to the USFL, which Fox owns, added a new name to their list of team names.

The Mobile Stallions Trademark was filed on October 25th.

“IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Clothing, namely tops, bottoms, jerseys, swimsuits, jackets, scarves, gloves, pajamas, underwear, socks, footwear, headwear, aprons

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, professional football games and exhibition games; providing ongoing television and radio programs in the field of football; providing sports and entertainment information via a global computer network; fan clubs; betting services; gambling services; entertainment services provided during intervals at sporting events, namely, interviews and live musical performances.”

The USFL already has the Birmingham Stallions name. Mobile is 3 hours away from Birmingham. Hancock Whitney Stadium is a 25,450-seat multi-purpose stadium on the campus of the University of South Alabama. Ladd–Peebles Stadium has a seating capacity of 33,471. Those seem to be the only two stadiums that a USFL team could play in that area.

With Birmingham being the main hub for the USFL, at least for the next two years. It is interesting why they would add Mobile Stallions. Part of the deal between Fox and the BJCC is for Birmingham to come away with their own USFL team. That wouldn’t work for the people of Birmingham to have their team playing 3 hours away.
